A Summer’s Memory

The taste of a memory grazes upon my lips

And slips away just as fast

But for a mere moment I’m transported

Back into the bliss of a stolen kiss

The faint smell of the wine on our breaths

Heat not just from the summer sun

But from the exchange of a summer love

However the sun can only shine for so long

Till the dark frost settles back in

And I’m alone with the memory again
